About Canterbury Toy Library

Canterbury Toy Library is a not-for-profit community run toy library which has been lending high quality toys to families since 1983. We are managed by a passionate volunteer committee with the support of volunteers from the local community alongside our members.

Why buy when you can borrow?

How quickly does the novelty of an expensive new toy wear off for your child? Our library has over 1,600 entertaining new and vintage toys available all year round for the price of just one or two new toys. Toys are suitable for ages 6 months to 10 years+

How we operate

Canterbury Toy Library is a not-for-profit organisation run by a volunteer committee supported by a paid coordinator at our borrowing sessions.

One of the ways we keep membership costs low is by each member volunteering their time to help keep the toy library running.

Volunteering takes less time than rearranging the storage space to pack away all of those purchased toys when your children tire of them!
