Get Involved

Whether you are looking for a local volunteer opportunity or interested in donating toys to the library we are always grateful for the support we receive

Donate Toys

We always welcome the donation of quality toys in good condition. If you have toys to donate please get in touch by email with a photo of the toys and we can let you know if it will be suitable.

Please ensure donated toys are:

  • in good working condition

  • durable and easy to clean (no soft toys, books, dolls)

  • easy to transport in a car

  • are complete with all pieces (we sometimes accept individual pieces such as Fisher Price Little People, ELC figurines, Duplo etc where we can use them with our existing sets)

Once confirmed by email donated toys can be dropped off during our regular opening hours on Saturdays.

Volunteer

Canterbury Toy Library is run by the efforts of volunteers, we're always looking for more people to help.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life from high school students, university, retirees and member families.

Our volunteer opportunities include:

  • Saturday volunteers helping with toy library returns. We have two shifts available 9.30-11.30 and 11.30-1.30, minimum of 1 shift per month

  • Photographer - we're looking for an experienced photographer to take some photos of our service

All volunteers must be 15 years or over, volunteers over 18 are required to hold a current working with children check

Donations and Partnerships

If you are interested in donating money for running our sessions or sponsoring a toy you are able to donate through Toy Libraries Australia to make a tax deductible donation. Note that you would like your donation to go to Canterbury Toy Library on the donation page.
